The Art of Colour .Dance featured on The Dance Current!

What a treat to have our series of dance films featured on The Dance Current's website! Rumour has it, there will be a small nod to the films in their next print issue as well.

The Art of Colour .Dance featured on The Dance Current!

I grew up reading articles in The Dance Current in my home studio on Vancouver Island. Since its creation in 1998, Canada's dance magazine has evolved from being a community newsletter to a nation-wide print magazine with bi-monthly issues and supplementary online material. They do a brilliant job at connecting Canada's diverse and far-reaching dance community, supporting the hard work of our country's artists, and creating space for necessary discussions and dialogue surrounding the future of our art form.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to Brittany Duggan of The Dance Current, for making all of this possible, and to Emma Kerson, for interviewing myself and Christian Peterson, and writing articles for each short film.

You can view the trio of films at the links below:

- #958EAC - starring myself & Natasha Poon Woo

- #677E7F - starring Jee Lam & Mayumi Lashbrook

- #1E1F27 - starring Julie McLachlan & Jenna Schaefer

Enjoy! Love, Bo

Since graduating, she has crossed the line between classical dance genres and the commercial industry, choreographing for theatre productions (SeXT: Sex Education by Theatre; Mixie and the Halfbreeds, produced by fu-GEN Theatre Company) and independent dance projects and commissions (Soulpepper Theatre's Shen Development Series; The Garage; Dancestreams Youth Dance Company).

Select performance credits include the Much Music Video Awards, the Toronto Raptors’ Dance Pak, The Umbrella Academy, Sogand, PSY, and the NBA All Star Weekend 2016.

Currently, Lam works as a freelance dancer, choreographer, adjudicator, and educator. She is also the co-founder of OAYSIS Studios: holistic movement lifestyle, offering online classes in dance, yoga, fitness, and meditation.
