Dancestreams, founded in 1985, is a pre-professional, youth dance company which brings together talented, focused dancers from diverse communities and schools. It's a breath of fresh air, away from competitive dance styles, with a strong focus on artistic exploration and modern dance fundamentals. They have shared their extensive repertoire throughout the Vancouver Island region, lower Mainland, Kootenay region, and Maritimes, in addition to travelling internationally to China, Belgium, Germany and Los Angeles.

Each year they hold their Winter Workshop choreographic intensive, where guest choreographers come to set new pieces for their repertoire. I had the honour of creating a piece with seven dancers from the company, this December 2015. I loved participating in this creative process and look forward to witnessing these young dancers continue on their journey!
